While there are very few movies that have stayed with me over the years, there are countless movies I have watched multiple times. It’s so easy to do because they are so accessible, typically on Netflix or one of the countless other streaming services. But I’m not talking about watching “good” movies, I’m talking about movies I’ve watched that are just plain bad. I have a few that are just plain horrible, and one of them being Mogul Mowgli.
The latest offering from Fox Searchlight is the new film Mogul Mowgli, which is based on the Rudyard Kipling classic. But can the film stand up to the original story? And if you need to know the answer to that, you’ve come to the right place.
Mogul Mowgli Review: Stream it or Skip it?
If you enjoyed Sound of Metal, you’ll be pleased to learn that there’s more to come. Riz Ahmed is returning with a new musical drama named Mogul Mowgli. On September 3, 2023, the film was released in theaters.
Plot
The character of Zed, a British Pakistani rapper, will be played by Riz Ahmed. Before embarking on a worldwide tour, he chooses to pay a visit to his family. He develops an autoimmune illness all of a sudden. He must now reconcile his health, his profession, and his relationship with his parents.
For his performance in Sound of Metal, Ahmed was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. Riz Ahmed is a musician who is struck with an unforeseen medical ailment in Mogul Mowgli, which is a re-enactment of the same idea. Many concerns about one’s desire, trauma, and integrity are almost unanswerable. The film gives the impression that the viewer is on a quest for the truth. Overall, the film is about Ahmed and how he transforms into a totally new person.
Exis West, Riz Ahmed’s next project, is based on a book of the same name. He’ll adapt the book for Netflix and serve as a producer on the project. Another project, Flee, is an animated documentary that will be released in December. Ahmed and Bassim Tariq are the film’s screenwriters.
